2008 Shows
Pennsylvania Train Museum on Nov 29th. Mark and I decided we would go to the train museum down in Strasburg, PA. It was a great museum, much more than I expected!
Shuttle Launch and many other adventures. The week of Nov 7-14th Mark and I traveled to Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennesee. Highlights were the Air show at KSC, Don Garlits museum, our never ending quest to see all the Blackbirds on display, and finally the shuttle launch!
Gold Coast Concours, Fairfield, CT. I was invited earlier in the year to attend this event with the Cosworth, so I wasnt going to miss out! What a great time, with perfect weather.
The road less traveled. We have been going by this stretch of abandoned hiway now for quite some time, so Mark and I finally decided to stop. We walked the whole length, North and South, about 4-5 miles. The view from the top was amazing, and as the graffiti says, it was worth the walk.
Manchester Main Street car show. All day event, with thousands of great cars. This years weather was hot and sunny, just perfect!
Middletown Car show. About 2/3rd the size of last years show but still a grea showing of quality cars. We got there a little early as seen in the first picture, but it was nice to see them all rolling in.
Ferrari Concours at the state capital A bit overcast but nice and warm. Didnt look like too many Ferrari's stayed home, the place was full! Always a good show at the capital.
Greenwich Concours June 8th, where my Cossie was invited to be presented there. It was about 95 degrees and sunny, which is perfect for an awesome car show!
NY international Auto show, March 21. Getting the car show season off to a good start! Pictures taken with a point and shoot.
2007 Shows
Orange CT Car show , Sept 30, 07. Probably one of the biggest shows we've been to all year with over 1300 cars! Weather was, yet again, perfect and there was a lot of good hardware there. Used a new lens, so some shots are just part of a learning curve.
The Gold Coast Concours in Westport CT, Sept 16, '07. Priceless cars, priceless people and one hell of a good day. This was a benefit event for Autism which made it that much more special. One more shot not in the gallery is this panorama shot of the grounds. The strange vertical mark on the right was a pole and a rope close to the lens.
Day 2 of the Limerock park Fall vintage Festival- Car show. Sept 2, '07. This one did not disappoint, there were more cars this year than I ever remember in the past. The entire straight away, pit lane, turn 1 and turn 2 were all filled with cars, both sides. Pay special attention to the first couple of pictures, a fellow named Russel Truelove. A NASCAR Pioneer, in his '56 Mercury that he bought new and raced in Daytona. In the first image, he gave me (and autographed) an old picture of the exact pose, but from '56! In fact there is a burger named after him at the local restaurant in Daytona. Mark and I took good care of him today, and we got to ride in his car, it was fantastic! And come to find out, hes my neighbor, in the next town over!
Limerock Park Fall Vintage Festival - Races. Sept 1, '07. A yearly event up here in the North East which shouldnt be missed and this one was no exception. Some incredible hardware and perfect weather. These guys arent afraid to use them either!
Saratoga Auto Museum. We initially went up there for the Italian car show....there were 9 cars that showed up so we went into the museum instead. The museum pictures are dark since we did the tour without the lights on. We snuck in before it was open so we didnt want to raise too many flags by turning on the lights :) The museum had a great display of "Barn Finds", so there were some nice restored and unrestored cars in there.
Manchester CT Summer car show Once a year they shut down Main St and line both sides and the center. This year was over a mile, and over 2000 cars.
Newport RI Concourse d'Elegance July 28th, 2007. An amazing display of cars at the Newport Mansions. Including a section on vintage race cars. The show was attended by Sir Stirling Moss, Dan Gurney, David Hobbs etc and is the first annual. More information on the event here
Torrington CT summer event . They shut down Main street for the night, and you'll see pretty much everything you can imagine. The orange '69 Boss isnt real, its just a 69 sports roof with really bad VIN replacement. Not even a Boss motor. The guy with the original '31 was my favorite!
Simsbury car show, Iron Horse Blvd, July 8th 2007. Its one of the "Must See" shows of the year, and this one was no exception. It was about 90 degrees and sunny, perfect!
Middletown Car show, June 14th, 2007. One of the best car shows ever.
Main street was closed down and cars lined both sides and the center. Probably
close to 700+ cars there, all of them awesome. Sorry about all the Boss 302 shot
s, Ill need them for restoration purposes :)
Greenwich Concourse 2007June 2nd and 3rd 2007. I only went on June 3rd. C
ome to find out the first day is American cars and the second day is for Europea
n cars. Next year, I'm definitely going both days! The official link is here.
Ferrari concourse show Hartford capital, June 17 2007. Tons of good Italian iron, and a perfect day. Yes, even an FXX, 288 GTO, 512M and countless 360's and 308's.
Races
Sebring 2006This was the first race of the Audi R10 :) As in the past, I met up with Bob Myer in Jacksonville then drove the rest of the way with him. Great racing, great friends and a great time hopefully to be repeated for years to come.

This is a virtual tour of the Mt Washington Auto Road. The weather was great at the bottom, but as is typical of the mountain, the top was unpredictable. Almost near the top, the fog set in as did the wind. At the summet it was 54 degrees and 55 mph winds, with gusts quite a bit higher. While up there Mark decided to try doing a donut at Cragway in the sand. Here are the results. Too much traction!
When mark and I raced the mountain, the conditions at the top were the same! It was intersting driving in it, nevermind at speed :) Here is an in car view of the race, but the weather was good for this run.
1955 Thunderbird Restoration. My dad bought a great 1955 Thunderbird but it was repainted to white when it should really be black. We took it down all the way, did a complete mechanical rebuild and repaint, and made it show quality. Read about it here!
Pictures from my B25 Flight. Mark and I hitched a ride on a real B25 at the Arlington WA air show in 2002. These were originally 35mm, then scanned in from slide. A lot of post processing had to happen to make them acceptable, but they came out well.
